Competion Rules and Entry Information

Competitions are a showcase for talent and artistry. There will be four competitions attendees may enter and one competition both attendees and non-attendees may enter. Please read the following information carefully because in order for your entry to qualify, it must adhere to the rules. Official voting will take place in the afternoon, votes will be tabulated, and the winners will be announced during the evening festivities. Winners will be duly recognized for their efforts. We understand it takes much thought, time and effort to create an entry so appropriate recognition and rewards will be given during the award ceremony.

Competition 1: Diorama

Open to attendees only. Limited to 1 entry per person.

Plan a diorama or scene reflective of the Florida and Crocodile Dawndee theme. The diorama must be no larger than 18 inches long by 18 inches deep x 18 inches high. The diorama may contain props and dolls made by you and purchased by you. Dioramas will be judged on overall creativity, use of props and dolls, and reflection of the theme.

Competition 2: Custom Doll

Open to attendees only. Limited to 2 entries per person.

A custom doll is defined as as original Topper Dawn or friend who has been given a new hair style, new face paint or both. This competition is to showcase artisitic talent in re-doing an original doll. In order to best do so, your custom doll must be displayed wearing either an original blue and white mini dress or a red and white mini dress. Please bring a stand to display your doll. Your doll may not be displayed with any props.

Competition 3: Custom Outfit

Open to attendees only. Limited to 2 entries per person.

A custom outfit is defined as clothing made by the entrant. This includes all pieces of clothing except footwear; however, you are welcome to make the footwear if you desire to do so. Create your most beautiful original outfit! In order to showcase the outfit only, the outfit must be displayed on one of the original four Topper dolls - Dawn, Angie, Glori or Dale. Boy outfits are permitted as well and should be displayed on Gary. Please bring a stand to display your doll. Your outfit may be displayed with appropriate small props and accessories such as purses, umbrellas, pets, gloves, scarves, hats, etc.

Competition 4: Photo Contest

Open to attendees and non-attendees. Limited to 2 entries per person.

Submit an 8 x 10 inch photo reflecting the Florida and Crocodile Dawndee theme. Photos may be color or black and white. The use of photo software is permitted. Show us your digital talent in creating some awesome prints of our favorite dolls! Photos may be displayed in a photo frame if you provide one.

For non-attendees: Photos must be received by September 18, 2010. Please mail your photos to Nancy Collins, 318 Indian Trace #126, Weston, FL, 33326, USA. Please attach a note with your full name and email address. Photos will NOT be returned.

Competition 5: Best of the Best

Open to attendees only. Limited to 1 entry per person.

Bring your "best" doll to be crowned Best of Show! We will display and photograph some of our hobby's crown jewels and select the overall winner as the most beautiful. This display of gems will make for a fantastic photo opportunity so please bring your cameras and video recorders. This doll can be something made by you or purchased by you. Anyone can enter any doll wearing any outfit with any props!
